- What does a producer require for energy? Water, carbon dioxide, sunlight/light energy
- How does a producer make its food? The Sun’s energy is combined with the carbon dioxide and water to produce glucose. Glucose is a type of sugar. Glucose is a plant’s food.
- After the Sun’s energy has been used to assist the plants make their food, what happens to the energy in the plants? The energy is stored in the plants (as glucose) and used as needed.
- BONUS PROJECT: Students will use a computer generated picture to create an ecosystem that will show the complex interactions between the Sun, producers, and consumers by including arrows to reflect each interaction.
