Jumano

Homes, The Jumanos made amazing houses.  Here is about the houses.  Adobe is a kind of brick made out of straw and mud.  They lived in villages.  The Jumano lived near Rio Grande in the Mountain and Basin region.  Jumano houses were inmovable. Their houses are called pueblos. Their houses were made out of adobe.

Food-transportation, The Jumanos ate lots of food. They ate corn and beans. They used to hollow gourd and hot stones in there until it boiled.  They traded cloth, shells, salt, and other goods. The they also had to hunt to have the meet from the animals.

Language-Communication,  The Jumanos spoke two languages.  They spoke Spanish and English.  The Spanish came from New Mexico.  The English were born in Jumano.  So that is the Jumano language! Just Spanish and English!  Just like the San Antonio language!

Entertainment-Games, The Jumanos had many types of games.  The Jumano games were based on folk tales. They even played with baby dolls.  Did you know that if the kids were playing with a ball then it resembled the Sun or the Moon.  If a woven hoop was played with then that resembled a spider web.

Education-Childcare-Medicine,  The Jumanos did not have a school.  The dads taught the sons how to hunt and scrape off skin from animals.  The moms taught the daughters how to do pottery.  So they did not have a school because they learned from their moms and dads.

Jobs-Money-Leadership-Tools and Technology, The Jumanos had many jobs.  Here are some of the jobs they do.  Some Jumanos are farmers plus they have their own leader/government.  The farming was hard since they had dry land.  So they farmed close to the Rio Grande.  Can you believe that.  Their jobs are so cool!

Clothing, The Jumanos most of the time they were naked!  Can you believe that!  But when they did where cloths the woman wore brief skirts, short sleeveless tunics, and capes/docks. The Jumanos had to make there own clothes so they planted cotton. Men even wore tattoos! Woman wore deerskins!

Weapons-War, The Jumanos didn't have much weapons because they were farmers.  But they did have some weapons! They used bow and arrows, and buffalo hide shields.  They also used clubs or cudgels made with hard wood. They hunted on horses and used their weapons to hunt.

Tradition-Story's-Religion-Ceremony,  The Jumanos did many types of traditions.  All of the Jumano people wore tattoos so people to see what they accomplished.  Men also shaved all of the hair except for one single part.  The Jumano people did not want to greet any people that came to visit them.  But they would already make houses for the visters.
