                                              The Origin of Ruby Red

                                        

     

 

 

     One day, a man named Ruben was walking down the street, searching for his run-away dog. "Fido! Fido? Fido! Come back home puppy! Where are you?" shouted the man frantically, whipping his head side to side. A woman inside watching TV stuck her head out the front door, and looked fiercely at Ruben. 

     "Stop your searching, all hope is lost, all of your hope is lost." commanded the mysterious woman. She slowly stepped back into the house, never losing the man's gaze. Ruben was clearly stricken back, he had never seen anything so strange in his entire existence. Ruben shook his head, cleared his mind, and continued down the sidewalk. 

     Suddenly, the skies turned a deadly color, darker than coal. The clouds disappeared, and were replaced with red rubies that were unusually sharp at the ends. A menacing woman in a long, black, flowing coat floated down from the sky, resting only five feet away from Ruben.
