The global television debut of “Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion” is set for FRIDAY, OCTOBER 3 (9:00  p.m.,  ET/PT  in  the  U.S.) on  Disney  Channels  around  the  world, ushering  in  the series  “Star  Wars  Rebels”  beginning  MONDAY, OCTOBER 13 (9:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney XD.  The series will air in 34 languages across 163 countries in over 400 million households.

VIP TRAINING WILL BE THIS WED. AT 8:30 and 2:30

for those who want to go on field trips and must be cleared by the office.

Parents, we have a 1/2 day field trip to San Jose Mission on Oct. 10 at  11:00 AM and will return after we eat lunch at the Mission. 

We will go with the Miller, Rihn, and Stokes classes.

Next week is the first book fair for this year.  The Book Fair will ONLY be available to students during the school day.  The ONLY late day will be the night of Open House and the fair will be open until 7:00 p.m.  There is a new (free) app out that will help you shop at the book fair. The 4th grade students have the opportunity to attend an outstanding and educational field trip to Sea World of San Antonio. The teachers will be discussing the adaptations of the animals in the park and many other Science concepts.

Date: Thursday, October 23rd

Cost: $7.00 – Money due by October 20th (cash only—no checks or Sea World passes will be accepted)

Items to bring: Sunscreen or hat, lunch, camera (child is responsible for keeping up with it), wear comfortable shoes. Please put the lunch in a plastic bag so it can be thrown away. No glass bottles or drinks with straws are allowed (straws are hazardous to the animals). Students may not bring money to purchase any items.

If you are interested in chaperoning the field trip please place a check on the designated space on the bottom of the permission slip. You must have completed VIP training in the past or before the field trip. A background check also needs to be completed for this school year. The cost will be $7.00 in advance for parents. There are only 5 slots for each homeroom at this price, so the first 5 who have a cleared background check for this school year, completed VIP training, and have paid the $7.00 will be selected. It will be $25.00 at the SeaWorld gate for parents who are not one of the first five in the homeroom. No children other than Salado students may attend the field trip.
